Body of Man Found in Police Forest

{{On Sunday evening, a lifeless body of a man was found rotting in a forest belonging to National Police at Kacyiru.}}

The body was discovered by an elderly woman who had been collecting firewood from the forest when she saw swarm of flies at a spot. She moved closer and found it was a naked body of a man rotting and later notified local area authorities.

The forest is located at Amahoro in Kibaza Cell of Kacyiru sector in Gasabo district.

Mukamana Anathalia says the dead body was tied with a piece of cloth around the neck and abdomen. She alerted the local authorities that later informed Police.

Nsabimana Vedaste the Executive Secretary at Kacyiru Sector confirmed the discovery of the body of a man and that Police retrieved the body and took it to hospital for a post-mortem.

Meanwhile, Supt. Modeste Mbabazi the Police Spokesperson of Kigali city confirmed the body had been found in the Police forest but hastily assured area residents that security in the area will be beefed-up.

Residents in the area noted that the forest has been a den for idlers. It was also noted that two other people including a woman and man have gone missing.
