The UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon iss expected in Rwanda for a working visit as well as in the sub-region in May this year.
The UN chief has seen economic progress achieved by Rwanda and support to ongoing efforts to restore peace in the Great Lakes region.
According to an official statement, Ban Ki-Moon will be accompanied by his special envoy for the African Great Lakes, Mary Robinson, and the President of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim.
Appointed on March 18, Mary Robinson plays a key role in supporting the implementation by the signatories of the Framework Agreement for peace, security and cooperation in the DRC and the region.
This Framework Agreement was signed on 24 February 2013 by eleven African Heads of State in the Ethiopian capital.
