Arsenal supporters discover Rwanda through Visit Rwanda Fan Activation

The activity aimed at introducing Visit Rwanda to the Arsenal FC fan base in an interactive manner and strengthen the already existing relationship between Visit Rwanda and Arsenal FC.

Rwandan Ambassador to United Kingdom Yamina Karitanyi and the team’s commercial director Peter Silverstone were both present.

The event took place during a match between Arsenal and Chelsea. As the two adversaries clashed, “Visit Rwanda” representatives were at the entrance to the stadium bringing a taste of Rwanda to thousands of Arsenal FC and Chelsea FC fans, entertaining them with traditional drummers in full Rwandan regalia, while others were distributing flyers illustrating different tourist attractions in Rwanda.

Visit Rwanda also ran a photo competition for the fans, giving them the opportunity to win signed Arsenal T-shirts as well as tickets to watch Home Games of their choice. To participate, the fans had to take a picture in front of the ‘Visit Rwanda’ stand, follow Visit Rwanda Twitter & Facebook Page, then publish the photo with the #VisitRwanda hashtag.

On 23 May 2018, RDB, through the Rwanda Convention Bureau, became Arsenal’s first official sleeve partner as part of Rwanda’s drive to become a leading global tourist destination.

The three-year deal makes ‘Visit Rwanda’ Arsenal’s official Tourism Partner. The ‘Visit Rwanda’ logo features on the left sleeve of all teams.
