Having suffered internal wrangles in 2012, the Rwandan Association for the Promotion of Family Welfare ARBEF has a new leadership team.
On Sunday March 10, new leaders of the association were inaugurated as a way to dissolve disputes that, last year, caused a series of disagreements between the board and the executive committee.
Since 2012 ARBEF had been embroiled in internal wrangles with accusations and counteraccusations, including nepotism, mismanagement of funds, and interference.
Since then, the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) has appointed an interim leadership of the Rwandan Association for the Promotion of Family Welfare (ARBEF) that will facilitate the setting up of a new leadership.
It is in this regard that on 10 March, 2013, Mbonirema Jerôme was sworn in as the new president of ARBEF elected with 39 votes out of 39 i.e. 100%.
Uwambaye Helene elected Vice-President; while Muragijemariya Virginia was elected Secretary and Uwizeyimana Dative elected Deputy Secretary of ARBEF.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RGB, Prof. Shyaka Anastase urged the new committee to fulfill their duties and work closely to ensure that no wrangles arise again.
