APEPARWA Technicians Angry at Late Payment

Workers of APEPARWA an Agriculture extension company in Bugesera are angry for not being paid since August 2012.

The workers mostly technicians told IGIHE that they had submitted their complaints to district authorities but no response was provided.

They decided to forward their complaints to the Prime Ministers office but too haven’t received any feedback,” Charles Nsengimana representing the 15 technicians said.

However, Tharcissia Mukakibibi, the Director General of APEPARWA told IGIHE, “we are still waiting for payment from RAB. We will pay our technicians.”

She added that, the technicians have not been paid for only 6 months not ten as claimed by the technicians.

Julius Rukundo, Vice-Mayor in charge Economic Affairs told IGIHE that the problem is known but its not the district supposed to pay the technicians of APEPARWA.

“We have no contract with the company but we defend their problem in many meetings with Ministry of Agriculture.”

Mbonigaba Jean Jacque, the Director General of Rwanda Agricultural Board told IGIHE, there are some mistakes made in APEPARWA documents they reported which they have been asked to correct.
