Residents and students including Security officials are battling the fire using water buckets, sand and chunks of soil and tree branches.
A student (on condition of anonymity) told IGIHE that several students were attending to volley ball and basket ball games at a court near the domitory, “we saw plumes of smoke and instant fire razing through the domitory”.
The domitor accomodates about 170 students.
