Ambulance Donated to Kigeme Refugee Camp

During her visit to Kigeme camp in Southern Province where Congolese refugees are hosted, Gasarabwe Mbaraga, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations presided over the donation of an ambulance to Kigeme refugees.

The ambulance will be stationed at the nearby hospital of Kigeme. The donation was made January5th.

In her speech, Gasarabwe referred to the activities of the UN, including that of assisting refugees with UNHCR support.

During interactions, refugees asked the role of UN in stopping violence in DRC pointing out may be UN does not want peace to return to Congo, Gasarabwe told them that “the authorities in Kinshasa are characterized by little truth” adding that Congolese should sit together and talk to each other to resolve the matter in hand.

“Rwandans have been kind enough to have offered everything they could to accommodate the Congolese refugees in view of the high density of Rwanda. We present our gratitude, “said the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.
