{ Ambassador of The Netherlands to Rwanda, Her Excellency Madam Leonie Cuelenaere visited the Gacaca archives which are kept at Kacyiru Police Headquarters.

At her arrival, she was received by Dr. Jean-Damascene Gasanabo, Director General of Research and Documentation Center on Genocide.
In his remarks, the CNLG Director General traced the historical background of Gacaca archives, from the time they were collected from all districts and districts in the partial closure of Gacaca Courts activities in 2010 till recently when this valuable documentation was handed in to CNLG officially.
The huge task has been achieved as the scattered documents are now being filed district by district. Dr. Jean-Damascene Gasanabo also explained the situation under which the archive center operates, the available challenges and also the ongoing efforts to have the archives digitalized.
Ambassador Leonie Cuelenaere lauded CNLG for the commendable job it has done and promised to join hands with CNLG to make the digitalization process come to pass.
