Airtel Rwanda launches ’14 days of love’ campaign to support communities.

{Kigali, Rwanda. January, 2016 –February is the month of love and Airtel Rwanda is going to be spreading its love throughout this month with a campaign dubbed as ’14 days of love’. }

Airtel Rwanda has launched a campaign where it will be reaching out to organizations and communities that help in ensuring the wellbeing of Rwandans. Through its 14 days of love campaign, Airtel will be donating needed materials and money to these organizations so as they can be able to boost their activities.

Today, Airtel Rwanda kicked of the 14 days of love campaign at the Peace and Hope Initiativecentre in Gasharu Cell, Kinyinya Sector, Gasabo District. The Peace and Hope Initiativeis a local organization that was created by youth headed households after the 1994 Tutsi genocide.The main mission of this organization is to enhance the lives of vulnerable children and orphans through education, guidance and parental care.The organization supports the underprivileged children with school fees, health insurance and school materials.

Airtel Rwanda donatedRWF 600,000 that will be used to support 123 students with school materials. Additionally, in order to encourage a healthy child and a brighter future, Airtel also distributed milk to the children.

Speaking at the event, Peace and Hope Initiative representative, Albert Musabyimana said; “We are so grateful for Airtel Rwanda. They have reached out to us and we shall use their donation to help refurbish the centre, buy scholastic materials and pay school fees. This is a true blessing.”

Representing the Airtel Rwanda Managing Director, Airtel Rwanda’s General Manager for Legal and External Affairs, Brian Kirungi said; “We know that February is the month of love and we shall spread our love to many communities in Rwanda. We have put aside resources to donate to organisations, institutions, individuals and NGOs that will be primarily chosen by Airtel Rwanda staff. We hope this can impact the lives of these communities.”
