Ahly coach Juan Garrido has officially announced the 20-man squad for the match against APR in the CAF Champions League.
The Rwandan side will host the Cairo giants on 14 March in the first leg of the competition’s round of 32.
Ahly will be missing striker Ahmed Abdel-Zaher as he has a throat infection, while long-time absent forward Mohamed ‘Gedo’ Nagy wasn’t included as he has not regained his full fitness yet.
Playmaker Walid Soliman is available in the squad despite receiving a knock in Tuesday’s training session, while forward Karim Bambo was not included for technical reasons.
Having beaten Mozambique’s Liga Muçulmana 2-1 on aggregate in the Champions League preliminaries, Rwandan champions A.P.R will be facing an arduous mission against Egyptian champions Ahly.
Eight-time African champions Ahly are directly participating at the competition’s round of 32 as the Egyptian league title winners.
