{{Rwanda’s Prime Minister Dr. Pierre Damien Habumuremyi on Thursday launched the agriculture Season B 2013 in Rwamagana District urging residents of East to plant huge scale of soybean.}}
Habumuremyi reminded residents to increase the production of soybean so as to meet the capacity of the Mount Meru Soyco Ltd which is expected to process 200 tons of soybean produce per day.
The plant will process cooking oil from soybean and sunflower in Kayonza District and is expected to start operating in June 2013 at a total cost of Frw8 billion.
The Governor of Eastern Province Uwamariya Odette said the Province has reserved 13,000 hectares for cultivation of soybeans in which Rwamagana will cultivate about 970 hectares of the crop.
Habumuremyi called upon local leaders to help residents during the whole planting season adding that all Rwandans should cultivate their land so as to get good produce in this year.
