Agaseke Bank suffers Rwf53 million heist

Unidentified robbers last night broke into and stole Rwf53 million from Agaseke Bank, Rubavu district branch in Gisenyi sector, Ndengo cell, IGIHE has learnt.

The burglars are said to have broken into through the window at the back of the bank building, entered the bank and took a box containing the money.

In a short interview IGIHE has had with the executive secretary of Gisenyi sector, Mugisha Honore, he has confirmed the daring act. “The case is being investigated by the police,” he said.

In 2015, the Bank of Africa bought 90% of shares in Agaseke Bank as one of financial institution registered in Rwanda. Established in 2003, Agaseke Bank is getting ready to change its trading name to Bank of Africa – Rwanda.
