{ADEPR church has officially inaugurated five classrooms at Mihambura School as a way of contributing to addressing the challenge of overcrowding during the learning process. }
The five rooms, including one equipped with computers in Bugarama sector of Rusizi district, were funded by England-based organization, Hands Around the World Jersey (HAWJ).
During the launch, students, teachers and parents lauded the intervention and offer of the new classrooms, noting they will reduce overcrowding and enhance performance as they have created a good learning environment.
“We used to study under uncomfortable circumstances characterized by overcrowding, so this gesture will go a long way in creating a better learning environment and experience. We have also received computers that we will use to hone our technology skills,” Nyirabizimana, Emeline, a student, appreciated.
The headmaster of Mihambura School, Ndagijimana Japhet says that the new classrooms will boost academic performance.
Kageruka Benjamin, the Head of Education Quality and Standards (EQS) for primary and secondary school at Rwanda Education Board (REB) assured that the new rooms will improve the quality of education.
“ADEPR gesture of building modern classrooms brings in needed requirements by the Ministry of Education and computers will be used to boost quality education,” he said.
Pastor Sebagabo Leonard who represented ADEPR requested parents and pupils to maintain the new buildings.
The classrooms’ construction which started this year, was completed at a cost of Rwf 35 million, part of which was funded by Hands Around the World Jersey while members of ADEPR church in Bugarama provided part of the labour.
