{ADEPR has donated livestock to women cooperatives that are involved in Agriculture and animal husbandry in three districts namely, Muhanga, Nyabihu and Kamonyi.}
About Rwf 29 Million has been spent to buy different breed, including cows, goats and pigs.
ADEPR church says the donation was due to the fact that in order to get enough produce farmers need also to have enough manure to fertilize the soil hence the donated cattle will solve the issue.
It is also added that these animals will help in improving their diets since they will be in a position to get milk and meats.
ADEPR has been working with the Government in different programs that take citizen out of poverty.
These women have also demonstrated their particular potential in cultivating carrots, vegetables, cabbage, onions, etc.
One of the 40 women grouped in Muhanga based cooperative said that the cow that she got will help her caring for her kids.
She says “As a widow, living with my kids there are so many things that we need to solve at home. This cow will help us to improve our diet as well get manure to fertilize our small portion of land.”
The chief of Economy and finance in ADEPR, Mutuyemariya Christine thanked the cooperatives urging them to take care of the given cattle so they will be able to benefit from them.
She says ADEPR does not provide cattle basing on religious sects.
In General ADEPR has donated 9 cows in Muhanga, 7 cows in Nyabihu and152 goats in Kamonyi and 125 pigs in two sectors in Kamonyi District.
The total amount spent on those livestock estimated at Rwf 29 million.
