Genocide Suspect Arrested After 19years Under False Name

Munyantwari is said to have changed his identity and migrated from his home area in current Karongi district and resettled at Kinyinya in Gasabo district under different names.

For the past 19 years, Munyantwari had eluded Arrest for his alleged role in genocide crime committed in his home area at Karongi district.

While in Gasabo district, Munyantwari obtained a National ID under false names.

Munyantwari is born to Mbanziriza a resident of Gishyita at Karongi district.

New reports indicate that Munyantwari had been sentenced to Life in Prison by the Gacaca courts. He later runaway to live in Kigali where he later married another wife.
