Three Members of Family Killed

{{Three members of the family including a man, woman and their child have been killed in Rubavu district. }}

Reports indicate that the man and woman died at the scene and the child died while being taken to hospital.

The identities of the victims have not yet been established but Police confirmed the incidence saying one suspect has been apprehended in connection with the murder.

Sources say, the murder could have been triggered by the deceased woman’s past multiple relationships.

Police told IGIHE that in the family had five members including the three victims and two surviving children who were fathered by another man.

Rubavu district Mayor Sheikh Bahame Hassan told IGIHE that small arms left behind by armed groups from DRC that have previously crossed over into the border district in the past.

“Residents recently arrested a man found in posession with a gun in his house after he had fired two shots in the air. He was found cleaning the gun saying it had been picked by a child”.
