10th National Leadership Retreat Resolves to Strengthen Coordination of Institutions

{{The 10th National Leadership Retreat that lasted two days at Gabiro School of Infantry, in Gatsibo District has concluded with leaders resolving to strengthen coordination and communication within and between institutions, as a conduit for achieving EDPRS II.}}

Leaders from different sectors also resolved to translate the common vision of Rwandans into implementation in order to achieve results on time and to ensure that decisions and working relationships are based on accurate information and data.

The senior leaders also resolved to not only believe, but also inspire Rwandans to believe that they can collectively achieve 11.5 percent growth and overcome any challenges that they may face.

Issues to be tackled as a way of streamlining economic growth include overcoming capacity challenges, better coordination of investment projects, generation and access to electricity, fast tracking the resettlement, improving the quality of education and reviewing public service laws to increase accountability in public service.

The leaders committed to have accomplished at least 95% of the Gako retreat resolutions by June 2013.

During the retreat, President Kagame, who chaired the entire proceedings, urged all public service officials to look beyond presentations on achievements and to keep an open mind to the kind of learning that will lead to the change Rwanda wants.
