This award co-organized by the National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and, Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration Committee (RDRC), will celebrate the achievements of partners which have contributed to the disability employment.
Nominees for the Disability Employment Award are the following 5 organizations; – Hotel Muhabura, Musanze,Huye Mountain Coffee, Huye,Faith Victory Association (FVA), Kigali,Société de Confection Rwandaises Limited (SOCORWA), Kigali, and Vocation Training Center Nyanza, Nyanza
RDRC in collaboration with JICA is implementing the project of “the Skills Training and Job Obtainment Support for Social Participation of Ex-Combatants and Other People with Disabilities (ECOPD) from Marc 2011 to March 2014.
The project provides skills to about 1500 ex-combatants and other people with disabilities to find jobs. This project has three components: improvement of the facilities in the Skills Training Centers (STCs) to accommodate people with disabilities, skills training for ECOPD and supporting trainees to establish/ participate in associations and cooperatives as well as provision of small equipments to start job. About 10 STCs are targeted.
