German Envoy Says Rwanda Security Impressive

{{The German Ambassador to Rwanda, Peter Fahrenholz has commended the high degree of security that exists in the country.}}

Fahrenholz said this yesterday as he paid a courtesy call to the Inspector General of Police of Rwanda Emmanuel K. Gasana at the police headquarters in Kacyiru.

“I am very much impressed with high degree of security inside Rwanda. It is very remarkable achievement to have such low crime rate,” said Amb. Fahrenholz.

“We, as foreigners living here in Rwanda, we appreciate very much the high standard of safety in the country. We can drive and walk anywhere in the country and always feel safe. This is something which doesn’t come naturally but it is the result of the intensive efforts of the Police but also the good leadership of the country,” said Fahrenholz.

The envoy also said that his visit was aimed at enhancing the bilateral cooperation that exists between Germany and Rwanda National Police.

“I am very much impressed with the excellent work of the Rwanda Police and I came to see what we can do to further boost our cooperation,”

“If you want to keep peace in Africa, soldiers need to be trained to accomplish their duties in conflict zones,”

The Germany government has been supporting Rwanda National Police in capacity building such as training, criminal investigation and peace support.
