He was speaking about mining status in Rwanda. He added that a group of experts is doing more to identify the petroleum deposit.
He said that currently Rwanda is collecting preliminary results to indicate the petroleum quantity.
Rwanda is to finalize a Petroleum Sharing Agreement with investors so that the two sides can benefit from the discovery.
Habumuremyi said currently about 1,630 Km are to be explored to identify the quantity of Petroleum located under Lake Kivu.
The search for petroleum potential is being conducted by Vanoil Ltd since October, 2007.
The analysis of satellite picture and data collected by Vanoil Company showed that there were 57 definitive possibilities of oil silks in water which is possibly related to petroleum occurrence.
