Rampant theft of Electric cables in Rubavu district has paralyzed some businesses causing loses worth millions.
Mparibatenda Hussein, owner of a small maize processing factory and poultry farmers in Nyundo, have said that about 154 chickens died as well as Frw 6 Million was recorded as a loss due to shortage of electricity.
Areas affected by theft include Terimbere Cell in Nyundo Sector of Rubavu District.
The Energy Water Sanitation Agency at the district EWSA has urged residents in the district to be vigilant and help in the protection of remaining cables.

Muhawenima Antoine says theft of electric cables is a serious problem, “this is the third time such a case has been reported in the area.”
