{{A special committee of members of parliament from both chambers has dismissed a UN report accusing Rwanda of supporting rebellion in DRC.}}
The committee members said the report was baseless and allegations contained therein were mostly driven by individual and or selfish interests.
This was revealed yesterday during the presentation of a 160-page report by 7-member committee which gives details of role played by the UN, international NGOs and human rights activists in DRC in perpetrating hatred against Kinyarwanda-speaking Congolese, Rwanda as a country and its leadership.
The committee was chaired by Senator Jean Damascène Bizimana.
MPs and Senators have cautioned international community to stop accusing Rwanda and direct the accusers to find the core problem that caused rebellion in DRC rather than mentioning Rwanda as the Problem.
The committee also asked international stakeholders to uphold the signed agreements regarding international relations and not base on false allegations that tarnish Rwanda’s reputation.
The committee also urged donors to release aid.
