Profemme Twese Hamwe, an umbrella organization of women associations, has been praised for its role in elevating the status of women as well contribution to the national development.
Mrs.Jeannette Kagame made the remark last week during celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of Profemme Twese Hamwe adding that the later has positively impacted on wellbeing of Rwandan women and promoting the culture of peace and capacity building of member associations.
“We highly appreciate the role that you have played in different government program and how you have empowered women in Rwanda” Mrs Kagame said.
She said that peaceful society laid the foundation of hope which allowed Rwandan women to know their rights and play a key role in the fight against all forms of gender based violence.
For the past 20 years, Profemme has spearheaded the campaign to empower Rwandan women economically, socially and morally.
