Officials from Rwanda Ministry of Sports and Culture have told local media that activities of building a new stadium with seater capacity of 60,000 will start this year.
Bugingo Emmanuel in charge of Sports in MINISPOC has said that there are documents which should be signed between the Ministry and partners, adding that if the later are signed construction activities will begin.
He added that Rwanda wants to work together with partners so that by the end of 2015 a new stadium will be available and the later is expected to host the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The New stadium will have the capacity of receiving about 60,000 fans and more than Frw40 billion will be used to construction activities.
It will be built in Kicukiro District.
