Police FC secured a point against defending champions when their Primus league encounter ended in a 1-all draw on Saturday at Kicukiro turf.

Striker Meddie Kagere earned the point for his club on 45th minute when he tapped in a ball which had poorly been cleared by APR’s defender Ismail Nshutiyamagara.

The goal cancelled out APR’s early lead which Barnabe Mubumbyi had secured from Jean Claude Iranzi’s cross on 30th minute.

With the result, Police FC remains at the summit of the Primus League standings with 33 points in sixteen matches played while APR jumped to second position with 29 points and superior goal difference over Rayon Sport who face La Jeunesse on Sunday at Stade de Kigali.

In other matches, AS Kigali played out a goalless draw by SC Kiyovu at Stade de Kigali while Mukura punished Marines at Umuganda stadium with a 4-1 victory.

Elsewhere, Musanze were forced to a 1-all draw by visitors AS Muhanga; relegation battling side Etincelles forced Espoir to a 1-all draw in Rusizi while Isonga and Amagaju played out a goalless draw in Nyamagabe.

Both Isonga and Etincelles are tied in the relegation zone with 11 points each.
