The suspects; Philemon Sindayigaya 18, and Theogene Ndekezi 25, were arrested in Gikonko cell, Gikonko sector on January 30 for allegedly killing Alice Muhoza.
The girl, who was a pupil at Gikonko primary school, was killed as she returned home from school at about 1:00pm.

The suspects, who confessed to the crime, said they killed Muhoza to easily kill the “only evidence” that would have linked them to the theft.
They were identified by area residents after seeing blood stains on their shirts as they tried to change clothes. They immediately notified police, which led to their arrest.
Area residents identified the suspects as loiterers and drug addicts.
They are currently under custody at Gikonko Police Station.
Southern Region Police Spokesman, Supt Herbert Gashagaza, who condemned the gruesome murder and the subsequent arrest, said “they will be charged with murder.”
Gashagaza urged the community to join the campaign against all forms of illegal acts such as drug abuse, which he said is the major cause of other crimes.
