As was the custom, stakeholders in Kamonyi District of the Southern Province used to mount the District ‘budget, but this year 2012/2013, there were budgetary changes because these donors revealed that this year 67% of the support will not be available to Support Development initiatives Within the District.
Stakeholders said the changes were due to the fact that the source of income has diminished and that could be compared to the economic crisis on both side of Kamonyi and stakeholders.
The Executive Secretary of the District Bahizi Emmanuel said that some of the projects have not been successfully completed due to the financial constraints.
However, the District said these activities will complete during the next financial year.
Some Ministries also have reduced their support to the District up to 3.3%.
