Commuter taxis nolonger connect to this route claiming they don’t make any profit because the amount of gasoline used compared to fares paid by passengers leaves them in losses.
A driver who formally operated this route told IGIHE,”Carrying passengers from city Centre to Kinyinya through Nyarutarama is a long distance that leads to high Fuel consumption resulting in a loss.”
Taxi operators told IGIHE that they prefer to ply the route City Centre-UTEXRWA-Gacuriro-Kinyinya to quickly reach the destination on reduced fuel consumption.
Mukakarisa Clistela a passenger awaiting a taxi to Nyarutarama told IGIHE, “During peak hours, when we reach the tax stage, drivers refrain Nyarutarama bound passengers from entering their cars.”
The same problem has been cited along Kibagabaga road near the road heading to Kinyinya Centre.
