Police & Ombudsman office sign MOU

Rwanda National Police and the Ombudsman’s office yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in which both parties will coordinate in the fight against corruption in the country.

Both sides will exchange of information and expertise that will in the long run address corruption in the country.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Emmanuel K. Gasana noted that fighting corruption and other crimes is part of Rwanda National Police’s priority.

Gasana noted that Police has devised lots of preventive strategies to battle corruption in the country.

The Chief Ombudsman, Aloysie Cyanzayire commended Police’s remarkable efforts and commitment in fighting corruption in particular and other crimes.

Cyanzayire further noted that the partnership will help personnel of both parties acquire skills and knowledge to professionally deal with the vice.
