Since a mega landslide sliced off part of the road linking District of Rulindo in May 2012, road users in the area are calling upon for the quick fixing of the destroyed section.
Residents say the road is impassable during the rainy season and that activities of reconstructing should be hurried up.
In an interview with the Mayor of Rulindo District, Kangwage Justus said in May, 2012, underneath water lowered the road specifically at the area nearing Nyirangarama and since then using the road was difficult.
Currently, there are ongoing activities of deflecting the road some meters from the destroyed part.
Kangwage said without giving the exact date for road works completion, activities of reconstructing are taken with due attention.
He added that currently heavy materials are to be used to avoid further destructions and that will need possible technical skills of engineers.
