Four policemen have died on spot in an accident that happened in Gatagara at Mukingo Sector in Nyanza district.
The Policemen were travelling in a pickup truck escorting a bus carrying the Police FC team.
Among the dead included; Chief Inspector of Police Mugabo Peter. The driver of the Police truck Inspector Bizimana André.
Other four policemen have been seriously Injured and are currently recieving treatment at the University hospital in Butare.
The bodies of the dead policemen are currently taken at Nyanza hospital.
The accident was caused by a Tanzanian registered truck which swerved off the road hiting the police Pickup truck.
The Police FC team was heading to Rusizi district.
The Mayor of Nyanza district Abdallah Murenzi confirmed the accident.
