Though Donors preferred to suspend Aid to Rwanda, Rwanda’s Electoral Commission has confirmed that Aid suspension will not prevent the 2013 Parliamentary Elections from taking place.
While addressing a Press Conference, Prof Kalisa Mbanda, the President of National Electoral Commission, has said the preparation of elections has already been done adding that 65 000 people have been trained to facilitate activities of elections country wide.
The Commission has announced that voters will be able to register using Internet and will allow Rwandan Diaspora living abroad to participate in the coming elections.
Prof Mbanda said the total budget of 2013 Elections stands at Rwf 8 billion.
About 6,3 million voters are expected to vote.
In 2008, voters were about 5,200,000.
