He has been in the role for two years since 2021 after replacing Rtd Brig Gen Sekamana Damascène who also resigned.
Nizeyimana’s resignation letter was presented to members of FERWAFA on Tuesday 19th April 2023.
“I write this letter to inform you of my decision to resign from the position of FERWAFA President due to personal challenging reasons that make it impossible for me to continue carrying out my duties,” reads the letter in part.
