Why we should protect online data

Due to the presence of numerous programs facilitating these companies to offer such services, we manage to access our accounts fast and easily using mobile phones and other smart technology-enabled gadgets. It is really awe-inspiring.

However, the advantages are followed by challenges, some of which are related to cyber-crimes. These include hacking one’s account and other acts of scams which are on rise.

It is against this backdrop that we need to be more cautious as we use banking applications enabling us to access these services using electronic gadgets.

If a software and system installed on our electronic devices are outdated, the transfer of money might provide loopholes for theft, hence incurring losses. To rest assured of reliable online transactions, we need to update programs on our devices whenever we receive notification recommending us to do so.

Else, we need to adopt the system requiring us to use the password sent to us on phone whenever we want to access our accounts. This will ensure security of installed programs and our electronic devices.

Finally, we should always use a strong password composed of letters, numbers and symbols.

As for our electronic gadgets, we need to make sure that they can feature updated programs to be used in money transfer services.

These are things we should always give much attention but it is not enough to rest assured of our online data’s protection. We often provide loopholes for hackers to access data on our possession, particularly in public places.

It would be safer to transfer money in safe places and remain vigilant in case we have no alternative.

When you are in a restaurant, sipping to a cup of coffee or in a public place, you cannot be sure of who is monitoring you. That is why we need to always be attentive on people around us.

We should be careful as we use our accounts to transfer money and avoid leaving our gadgets anywhere even if you have a password.

When not using them, we have to log out and close all the programs we have been using to prevent anyone from possible illegal log-in.

It is also of utmost importance to use reliable internet network instead of rushing to use wireless in public places.

Even though, many financial institutions invest in updated and technology with high level of data protection, it is our collective responsibility to individually protect our assets, our gadgets and ourselves.

Let us remain vigilant as we continue to fight cyber-crimes to make internet and the world a safe place through enhances skills.

Be mindful that it begins with you, it starts with us.
