The Collective Civil Parties for Rwanda in France (CPCR) is shocked by the judgment of the French Court of Appeal of Versailles which ordered the issuance of a residence permit to the widow of former Rwandan President Habyarimana .
“This order from the French court will surprise only those who do not know the complacency shown by some judges for many years to those who are suspected of having participated in the genocide against Tutsis in Rwanda,” says Alain Gauthier, President CPCR.
The prefecture of Essonne dismissed in May 2011 the application for a stay of Agathe Habyarimana, citing in particular “threat to public order.”
It was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by Rwanda genocide, since rejected by the courts.
