The incident occurred along Huye- Nyamagabe road recently destroyed by heavy rain.
The Acting Executive Secretary of Gasaka sector, Jean de Dieu Sebintu has told IGIHE that the accident happened around 3a.m.
He explained that the truck flipped over as the driver bypassed another vehicle on road.
Speaking to IGIHE, Police spokesperson in Southern Province, SP Theobald Kanamugire has confirmed that the accident claimed two lives.
As he revealed, the deceased include the driver and a passenger onboard the truck.
SP Kanamugire said, by press time, that efforts were underway to retrieve their remains.
