One week after its launch, Tigo Rwanda’s SMS-based promotion Bonane rewarded over 180 lucky winners with prizes of all dimensions.
By sending the word ‘Bonane’ to 250, lucky winners accumulated points for a weekly draw and even had the opportunity to win airtime instantly.
One of this week’s winners drove home in a brand new motorcycle while other lucky ones went home with a flat-screen television set, scholarship fees worth 300,000 Rwf, 10 Android phones, plus many prizes in bus tickets and shopping vouchers.
Unable to hide his joy, Mr. Niyosenga Emmanuel from Ngororero district, a father of three who adopted another son, expressed that the scholarship prize he won will make this Bonane one of the best for his family.
“I have so much hope in miracles that I will continue playing Bonane and try to get another miracle before the end of the year”.
“Because of the support of our customers Tigo is able to celebrate another positive year, this is just one of the many ways we have to say ‘Thank you; to all of them’”, said Diego Camberos, Chief Executive Officer of Tigo Rwanda, during the prize giveaway at Tigo Headquarters in Muhima.
Umurerwa Carine, Entertainment Category Manager at Tigo Rwanda added, “more prizes make for more winners; at Tigo we think everyone should have something to celebrate for this Bonane”.
To participate, Tigo users can accumulate points by sending the word ‘Bonane’ to 250. Each SMS has a price of 35 Rwf and rewards the sender with a free SMS per Bonane hit. Tigo plans to run this promotion until 2013.
