The Rector of National University of Rwanda, Prof. Silas Lwakabamba has urged students to have a culture of debating to open their minds.
He was addressing NUR students during the official launch of “The Youth Connekt” program at the campus in Huye District.
“We need our students to organize more debates about constructive topics “Lwakabamba said.
He added that debating is also a practice of leadership as it is being noticed that prominent leaders like presidents in some countries used to practice such exercise.
The debates promote ownership of Government Programs because young people will provide their ideas and also solutions to some of the challenges they face.
Also Minister Jean Philbert Nsengimana noted that Rwandan Youth are able to change Rwanda into a developed country if they commit to be innovative and hard workers.
The Youth Connekt will be a series of Live Discussions in schools; Youth Centers, Universities and also stadiums where Youth will gather and talk to different leaders.
