Police has arrested Mussa Rwamuhizi with 390 pellets of cannabis in Nyabugogo cell, Kigali sector, Nyarugenge District.
Rwamuhizi 33, was seized November 12 on his way from Kiruhura following a tip-off from local residents who had suspected him for engaging in illegal activities for a long time.
The suspect is reported to have been in collaboration with an unknown lady who is on the run.
The inspector of Police and Commander of Nyarugenge Police station, Marcel Kalisa said that on many occasions at Gitikinyoni check point, drug dealers are intercepted while heading to Kigali City from Rubavu District.
“This check point is always operational 24 hours and it has helped much in capturing such kind of drug dealers,”
Western Province is among the major source of cannabis which is illegally smuggled into the country from neighboring DR Congo.
