Newly appointed ambassadors include Major-General Charles Karamba, former Chief of Staff of the Air Force in Rwanda Defence Force who has been appointed ambassador to Tanzania replacing Eugene Segore Kayihura appointed to South Africa.
Vincent Karega who served as ambassador to South Africa has been appointed to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye, who has been the Minister of State in charge of Transport in the Ministry of Infrastructure, was appointed as high commissioner to Singapore while Marie Chantal Rwakazina, Kigali city mayor will serve as the new ambassador to the Swiss Federation where she will replace Dr. François-Xavier Ngarambe.
Ngarambe was deployed to France replacing Jacques Kabale whose further appointment has not been revealed.
Among others, Wellars Gasamagera the Director-General of Rwanda Management Institute based in Muhanga, Southern Province will serve as the new ambassador to Angola, replacing Alfred Kalisa, who was posted to Egypt in the same position.
Kalisa will replace Sheikh Habimana Saleh who has been redeployed to the newly created embassy in the Kingdom of Morocco in a similar capacity.
The new appointments also saw Emmanuel Hategeka, the deputy CEO of Rwanda Development Board (RDB) named the new envoy to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) replacing Yasmin Amri Sued redeployed to Korea as an ambassador.
Dr. Aissa Kirabo Kacyira has been appointed as envoy to the newly created high commission in Ghana.
Kacyira, who was once the Mayor of the City of Kigali and Governor of Eastern Province has been serving as the deputy executive director of UN Habitat based in Nairobi, Kenya.
James Kimonyo who was replaced recently has been redeployed to China replacing Lt. Gen Charles Kayonga whose new appointment was not revealed.
The new deployments also saw Prosper Higiro appointed as high commissioner to Canada. He had assumed various duties including the executive secretary of the International Conference for the Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGRL).
Newly appointed envoys will be approved by Rwanda’s senate and host countries before assuming duties.
