Mupenzi and Vice-Mayor in Charge of Economic Development, Didace Kayitare and that of Social Affairs Domithille Musabyemariya tendered in their resignation letters yesterday citing personal reasons.
In a meeting on Thursday, the council led by the Chairperson, Chantal Atukunda elected Niyonzima with 22 votes of 25 total voters.
Niyonzima requested contribution from District staff to support his ambition of continuing to develop the district as well as solving people’s problems.
