The celebrations were held last week, on May 25th, in “Hilton Hotel Abuja”. The event saw several dignitaries, including the High Commissioner of Rwanda to Nigeria, Stanislas Kamanzi, RwandAir deputy CEO in charge of Operations, Lt.Col. Silver Munyaneza as well as stakeholders and friends of Rwanda.
Speaking during the event, RwandAir deputy CEO in charge of Operations, Lt.Col. Silver Munyaneza commended Nigeria for making it possible for RwandAir in opening Abuja route.
“The Abuja-Kigali route will deepen trade relationship between the two countries, and a means to increase connectivity in Africa, as well as in Asia, and Europe”, he said.
He said that there is a lot of potential within the Nigerian market and that opening another route there is a way of exploring that potential.
The High Commissioner of Rwanda to Nigeria, Stanislas Kamanzi, said that the commencement of Abuja-Kigali route will be a guarantee of the rise in opportunities to the people doing business between Rwanda and Nigeria.
Built in 1980s, Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria and is the only city in Africa that was built solely for the purpose of being the capital city.
Abuja’s top tourist attractions include Aso Rock, Gurara waterfalls, Millennium Park, National Ecumenical Center and the Abuja National Mosque among others.
