Speaking to IGIHE, the Rwanda National Police Spokesperson, ACP Theos Badege, said that post-mortem results indicate that lacking oxygen circulation to all parts of the body including the brain and lungs led to the pastor’s demise. Badege said that they suspect her husband, Drake Mugisha, to have been involved in the murder. He, Mugisha, was on Saturday arrested to help police with investigations.
“We have based our actions of arresting the suspect on doctors’ post-mortem report, information of perpetual home violence and circumstances of volatility in the night and the morning she died,” said Badege.
Badege urged the public to avoid any form of domestic violence but always consult with local leaders and police in time to amicably resolve any emerging conflicts. Pastor Mutesi has been the head of Gates of Heaven Ministry based at Muhima, a Kigali suburb.
