{Gospel artist, Thacien Titus has received the award worth Rwf 400,000 from MTN Rwanda for his song Aho Ugejeje ukora” which emerged the best among most songs used for Caller tunes. }
Other artists whose songs became popular for caller tune users include Tonzi and Theo Bosebabireba.
Requesting the caller tune once, requires users to pay Rwf 10 while the artist winning the competition receives 60% of the money earned by the song as per MTN agreements with artists.
Musonera Christella, the MTN Rwanda online advertizing manager has told IGIHE that the program was initiated to facilitate artists popularize their songs.
She said that the program increases visibility of MTN Rwanda and popularity among the customers.
Musonera unveiled that MTN Caller Tune Awards will be held per trimester.
Thacien said the award will enhance his efforts in enriching his music.
Thacien has 3 albums and 30 songs. He also received the award worth 200,000 in Groove Awards Rwanda 2016.
