Jef Neve, a professional Jazz artiste is due in Kigali for a concert in which he will feature with Cécile Kayirebwa on Friday this week.
Jef Neve , 39 , who has been in the music industry for more than 16 years has albums that have sold across the world where Jazz music is popular.
This Belgian artiste studied music at Lemmensinstituut School in Leuven where he obtained a degree in 2000.
The connection of Jef and East-Africa has always been very strong, as for the last 3 years Jef has performed every year in Kenya. The highlight of these tours was him being named the inspiration for the Safaricom International Jazz Festival in Nairobi and being one of the headliners on the last edition, in February this year.
Jef is also supporting the Ghetto Classics, a 700 students’ music school in the slums of Nairobi, sending music scores and instruments on a regular base.
The concert of Jef Neve will be held in Kimihurura in the auditorium of Rwanda Revenue Authority.
He was invited by Belgian embassy to Rwanda. He will feature with Rwanda’s female artiste, Cécile Kayirebwa who recently celebrated 70 years birthday.
According to organizers of the concert, it will start at 7.30 pm and only 350 fans can be accommodated.
Tickets will be sold at Ecole Belge de Kigali, Embassy of Belgium, Hôtel Mille Collines and RRA gates at the evening of the concert.
