{Eleven people have perished in a car accident that occurred last night in Musambira sector of Kamonyi district. }
The tragic incident took place around 7:30 pm when a truck collided with a Toyota Coaster carrying 28 passengers in a Karengera in Nyarusange village.
The traffic police spokesperson, CIP Kabanda Emmanuel has told the media that eleven people died on the spot.
“Eleven people have died, while 18 have been injured. Bodies and the injured have been taken to Kabgayi hospital,” he said.
Kabanda has said that police has launched investigations to establish the cause of the accident.
He appealed on drivers to respect traffic rules as most accidents are a result of reckless driving.
