{Two individuals Mugisha Nathan and Mukakabanda Jeanne yesterday won Rwf 1 million each in the campaign dubbed Kira organized by I&M Bank. The campaign is meant to encourage people open accounts and ask loan using technology platforms. }
The Kira mobilization expected to last three months started on July 5th 2016 where a new or existing client using Electronic banking and payments will have chances of winning Rwf 1 million every week.
As he received the money yesterday, Mugisha Nathan who has held an account in I&M Bank for one month said that the received money will help to grow his business.
“The money will help me to implement my project since I had already started a saving project to buy a land in the outskirts of Kigali city. The money is another support enabling to realize my dreams,” he said.
The managing director of I&M Bank Rwanda, Robin Bairstow said Kira campaign aims at attracting new customers and encouraging existing ones to use their services.
He explained that the award can be scooped by an individual or an institution during this campaign.
I&M Bank will offer Rwf 15 million to awardees of the campaign that will last three months.
I&M Bank was the first Rwanda’s commercial bank established in 1963 with its former French name ‘Banque commercial du Rwanda (BCR).
Today it has 17 branches across the country with more than 30,000 customers.
