Over 2,600 companies to be deregistered by RDB

{Rwanda Development Board (RDB) is set to deregister 2641 companies from its register following their failure to comply with the law requiring them to register again considering provisions of 2009 law.}

The announcement accompanying the list of companies released yesterday states that ‘the decision is based on the fact that such institutions failed to respect the law regarding trading companies’.

RDB bases on article 385 of the law No 07 of 27/04/2009 requesting all institutions to pass through registration to be licensed to operate.

The registration department at RDB has requested any company with clear reasons as to why it should not be de-registered to make a notification not later than August 31st 2016.

The law aims at managing, administering and registering trading companies and related activities.

This law states that any company whether local or from abroad isn’t allowed to be registered in a name that is still operational.

Cameroon Airlines, Safari Hotel, Afrirwanda, Rwamagana cooperative of rice farmers, AMAGERWA SARL, American Rwanda Minerals are among trading companies disqualified to operate in Rwanda.
