{The Tanzanian Regional Commissioner (RC) of Kagera, Salim Kijuu has sent a condolence message to the Rwandan government following the death of three Rwandese nationals in an accident which occurred this week in Ngara District.}
The three Rwandans died on Wednesday after a lorry in which they were travelling in overturned and caught fire. In his condolence message, sent on his behalf by Ngara District Commissioner (DC), Honoratha Chitanda, Kijuu said that Tanzania joins relatives and friends in mourning the deaths of three Rwandese citizens.
“We join the bereaved families during this sad moment. I hope the Almighty God will give you courage to endure the agony,” the message said. Following an increase of accidents on Lusahunga- Rusumo highway, Chitanda cautioned drivers to avoid reckless driving in the areas surrounded by steep hills and corners.
Kagera Regional Police Commander (RPC) Augustine Ollomi said the accident occurred at Mshikamano village in Rusumo ward.
He named the deceased as Hategekimana Jean Theogene, (30), and Bizimungu Shaban, (29), who both died on the spot and Alafa Ndovayo, (32) who died while undergoing treatment at Nyamiaga hospital.
The accident involved a lorry with registration number RAB 229 B, property of MERCI Company based in Kigali, Rwanda. The lorry’s driver lost control at Rusumo hill causing it to overturn before catching fire.
