Over 500,000 people support the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War

{Easy Culture, the organization for language, cultural exchanges and economic cooperation between Germany and China, hosted International Law Initiative Forum and Peace Walk in cooperation with International Women Peace Group (IWPG) on May 25th 2016. Since the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War was proclaimed with the main content: “peace culture must be resonated and war must be ceased” in Seoul, South Korea this March, the aim of the event is to support the declaration as an enforceable international law.}

​The international Law Initiative Forum was initiated by the participation of various legal experts on the basis of the explanation of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War. Over 90 attendants ─ including IWPG members and German citizens ─ participated in the forum. About 500 citizens holding hand-made signs came out for the peace walk thereafter.They walked along the street through PotsdamerPlatz to Brandenburger Tor with a performance group in each nation’s traditional clothing at the head, shouting peace. After the peace walk, many citizens participated in the Signature Campaign in Support of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War in order to implement an enforceable international law for the cessation of war.

“The declaration has the article to solve religious conflicts, almost all portions of disputes in the world. In this reason, we are able to achieve world peace if the declaration is activated as an enforceable law.” Imam Amir Aziz, the president of Ahmadiyya mosque in Wilmersdorf said. “I think it is very necessary to protect women and youths, who are the biggest victims of war. That’s why it is worth participating in the Signature Campaign.” One of the citizens participating in the peace walk said.

​“The peace walk is being hosted in German, South Korea as well as the Philippines and so on at the same time and we can feel the desire for hoping peace from all people.” A person concerned in IWPG said. “More than 500,000 people participate in the Signature Campaign in Support of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War and the number is on the increase.” “We urge that all people of the world should spur the Signature Campaign in Support of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War more voluntarily.” Nam Hee Kim, the President of IWPG said.

On the other hand, IWPG, the international peace group working for peace with 120 cooperative organizations in various 50 nations, works to achieve world peace through “SHE CAN” project, which is on the center of the four sectors: welfare service, education, cultural art and cooperation promotion. In addition, it is working with the slogan: Becoming themselves as one with maternal hearts, 36 billion women in the world achieve the cessation of war and world peace.
